The Central Bank of Suriname (CBvS) has introduced new banknotes of SRD 200 and SRD 500 into circulation. Cash payments for large amounts can now be made with fewer banknotes, reducing waiting times at ATMs and decreasing the likelihood of these machines being taxed or malfunctioning.<\/p>\n

The CBvS is responsible for ensuring that this circulation is efficient and contributes to smooth payment transactions where cash payments are necessary. As such, the new denominations of SRD 200 and SRD 500 have been added to the currency circulation.<\/p>\n

The society is urged to handle all banknotes carefully so that they can remain in circulation for as long as possible. Damaged, defaced, or soiled notes need to be replaced with new ones, incurring high
