The U.S. Mission to Suriname invites proposals from NGOs, individuals, and government educational institutions for programs that contribute to the improvement of social, economic, or environmental situations in Suriname.

All programs should include a connection to U.S. cultural elements, experts, organizations, or institutions that contribute to a better understanding of U.S. policies, culture, and perspectives.

Priority Programme Areas:

  1. Strengthening democracy
  2. Climate change and environmental education
  3. Fight against corruption
  4. Supporting a free and expressive media environment
  5. Promoting diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility for all marginalized communities
  6. Fostering academic collaborations
  7. Women’s empowerment
  8. Alumni Development
  9. Increasing agricultural production
  10. Supporting cultural exchange

Financial Information: Estimated Total Program Fund: $15,000 Ceiling for Award: $10,000 Minimum Amount for Award: $5,000

Who can apply? The Department of Public Affairs encourages applications from U.S. and Surinamese: registered nonprofit organizations, individuals, non-profit or governmental educational institutions, and governmental institutions.
