Ease of doing business

One of our biggest challenges in Suriname is the ease of doing business.

For example:

  • How can we ensure that technicians and managers from abroad can easily orient themselves and work efficiently when they come to develop this industry?
  • How can oil and gas companies find and attract suitable employees and professionals in Suriname to support them in their operations?
  • How can small, local entrepreneurs benefit from economic development?

Currently, in Suriname, we are completely unaware that there is a great diversity of talented entrepreneurs, freelancers, and professionals in this country.

Currently, there is also no comprehensive business directory or public overview that adequately maps the variety of businesses, associations, foundations, and other organizations in Suriname.

  • Where can I now find a simple and clear overview with all locally offered and available goods and services in this country?
  • Where can I now find a list of 10 people or companies who can now mow my garden?
  • Where can I now find a list of 10 people or companies who can quickly create a website?
  • Where can I now find a list of football associations where I can enroll my son?
  • Where can I now find a list of dance associations where I can enroll my daughter?
  • Where can I now find a list of all the training and courses offered in Suriname?
  • Where can I now find a list of all upcoming events in Suriname?
  • Where can I now find a list of 10 people who can repair my water pump?

Where can you now find the answers to all these questions?

We have come to the conclusion that we must inventory ALL Local Content in Suriname.

  1. There must be a publicly available overview of everything Suriname has to offer.
  2. An overarching platform must be developed that serves as a central hub for Local Content.
